Odyssey Behavioral Healthcare holds every treatment protocol, therapeutic modality, and clinical programming decision to a single standard: demonstrated efficacy in peer-reviewed research. That rigor defines the organization’s clinical approach and carries through every facility, brand, and level of care.

“Odyssey’s dedication to clinical excellence goes beyond treatment delivery — it is embedded in every aspect of our organization.”

Clinical Quality Council

Clinical quality at Odyssey isn’t managed at the facility level. It’s governed at the organizational level.

The Clinical Quality Council oversees clinical quality, safety protocols, and performance improvement across every facility in the organization. Led by Chief Clinical Officer Dr. Jeanne L. Greene, DNP, MBA, RN, NE-BC, the Council sets standards, monitors compliance, and drives accountability at the systems level. Its responsibilities include:

  • Establishing and enforcing clinical protocols across all brands and levels of care
  • Overseeing quality management and performance improvement initiatives
  • Evaluating clinical outcomes data to identify trends, gaps, and opportunities
  • Ensuring that safety protocols are standardized and consistently applied
  • Reporting directly to executive clinical leadership

This structure means that clinical quality at Odyssey isn’t dependent on the strength of any single facility’s leadership. It’s built into how the organization operates.

Client Safety Program

Odyssey’s Client Safety Program, known as CARE (Communicate, Assess, Respond, Evaluate), establishes a standardized safety framework across all facilities. The program is built on three pillars:

  • CARE framework — A proactive protocol that equips clinical and operational staff to recognize, assess, and respond to safety concerns in real time
  • Ongoing training — Continuous education on current safety practices, de-escalation techniques, and clinical risk management
  • Monitoring and reporting — Risk assessments, proximity-based monitoring, and real-time alert systems that support client safety throughout treatment

The Client Safety Program isn’t a standalone initiative. It’s embedded in daily operations at every Odyssey facility and reinforced through regular review by the Clinical Quality Council.

Measuring Clinical Effectiveness

Odyssey publishes annual clinical outcomes reports documenting symptom reduction, functional improvement, and treatment effectiveness across all brands. These reports use validated assessment instruments and are benchmarked against national norms, providing transparency for clients, families, and referring professionals.

Odyssey’s accreditations by the Joint Commission and CARF International provide additional external validation of the organization’s clinical and operational standards.

Client Satisfaction

Odyssey captures client and family satisfaction data through discharge surveys administered across all residential and outpatient programs. Using a 1-5 star rating scale, we achieved an impressive 4.4-star weighted average from 3,984 surveys.
