About

Overlooking the Great Smoky Mountains of Eastern Tennessee, The Stables sits on 25-acres designed for housing, dining, education, groups, multisensory experiences, and a wide variety of recreational and adventure activities. The Stables environment gives individuals a safe, non-institutional setting that allows them to reconnect to nature and animals while experiencing a healthy social engagement.

The serene mountain environment that surrounds Pasadena Villa is the perfect place for a peaceful road to recovery. Our retreat-like setting helps individuals on the autism spectrum to explore the vulnerabilities that interfere with self-awareness, acceptance, and growth, ultimately creating a unique opportunity to develop life strategies and the inner-strength necessary for sustained success. We provide evidence-based therapeutic activities and outdoor experiences that include Cades Cove, Wears Valley Ranch, Little Pigeon River, and the Smoky Mountain National Park that allows individuals to engage in hiking, mountain biking, camping, fishing, and horseback riding.

What We Treat

The Stables Autism Program has been designed to prepare individuals for a life of independence through social integration and practical skill development. Treatment at the program emphasizes self-efficacy, access to intrinsic motivation, and the development of a healthy identity. Our highly trained professionals use evidence-based strategies to help individuals engage with one another, problem-solve, and communicate. Combining these strategies with nature-based activities and social integration make the difference in our program. We bring autism treatment to a new level with our professional expertise and the understanding of research, which allows us to fill the treatment gap in a meaningful and innovative way.
